Adhesive Applications is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Smith to Converting Supervisor and Chandresh Thakur to Director of Engineering. In his role, Matt will oversee the converting operations of Adhesive Applications. Chandresh Thakur was temporarily filling this role as Adhesive Applications made significant process upgrades in converting.
“Matt has been a tremendous asset to our business in mixing and coating” said Petra Schaefer, co- owner of Adhesive Applications, “and we know he will bring his positive attitude and thoughtful approach to our converting operations. Matt will be running converting as we bring both coating and converting under one roof this summer with the construction of our new building.”
“This change frees up Chandresh to bring his wealth of knowledge, keen eye and tireless energy to processes throughout our operations and well beyond the converting floor. He continues to elevate our game every day,” said Petra.

Matt has been part of Adhesive Applications since 2000. He lives in Westfield, Massachusetts with his wife Jackie, his two children and two cats. He is actively involved in youth sports and serves as a coach for his son’s BMX racing team.
Chandresh joined Adhesive Applications in 2017. He has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Panjab University, as well as a master’s, a Ph.D. and a post doctorate degree from Lehigh University. He lives in Northampton with his wife Monika and enjoys hiking, playing pool and running.
